Creative Process/Product Strategy/Design & Development
Both brands are part of Samar Lifestyle, a company based in Bangalore/India.
The traget was to establish a design and development process including timetable, define the brand DNA/hand-writing and most importantly launch innovative commercial products.
The first step was to look into the most relevant Macrotrends that affected our consumers in India.
From there we created seasonal Material and Colour stories, usefull to distinguish product groups and to inspire new Designs.
We also analysed our main competitors in the Indian market, finding out their price structure and category splits.
Additionally we looked at what product was successfully selling in our own current range, showed signs of potential growth or was simply surplus.
Based on this info I created a lineplan and briefs for our Design team.
I worked with a team of Designers based in our HQ in India and Freelancers in Italy to turn these design briefs into sketches, ideas and specifications for the factories.
Once the factories were briefed we followed up with factory visits to supervise development and sampling.
The prototype collections were then presented to the sales team and key customers to include their feed-back into the final round of sampling.
